Venue

The meeting will take place at:

Red Lion Hotel on Fifth Avenue, Seattle

The meeting will begin with a plenary session at 8:00 am on Tuesday, Feb. 27 in the San Juan/Whidbey Room on the 3rd floor of the hotel. Coffee and light snacks will be provided in the morning and the afternoon. A get-together is planned from 6 to 8 pm on the first day of the meeting.

The Red Lion Hotel on Fifth Avenue is surrounded by the city’s best restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. The Pike Place Market, Monorail to the Seattle Center’s Space Needle, the Nordstrom Flagship store, Seattle Art Museum, and the 5th Avenue Theatre are just a few Northwest hot spots within easy walking distance.

Accommodation

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Red Lion Hotel on Fifth Avenue in downtown Seattle. To make your hotel room reservation, call +1 800 733 5466. State that you are with the AMAP Conference to receive the special meeting rate of $95 + 16.6% tax.

The hotel offers 297 spacious guestrooms and 10 suites with panoramic views of the downtown skyline, Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains. Guests can dine at either our Terrace Garden Restaurant, featuring the city’s largest outdoor patio, or the Elephant & Castle Pub, serving classic English fare.

All guestrooms feature:

Travel

Plan to arrive at Seattle Tacoma International Airport (SEA) on Monday, February 26. There are 3 ways to get to the Red Lion Hotel from the airport.

1. Take the Downtown Airporter: Cost $10.25. Boarding location for the Airporter is at the S. end of the Baggage Claim area through Door 00. Get off at the Sheraton (1st or 2nd stop) and walk 1 block to the Red Lion.

2. Taxi: Cost $29-$40.

3. Town Car service. Cost $38 (for up to 4 people). Call +1 800 971 8007 at least a week ahead of time to reserve. Pick up is outside the baggage claim area of the airline on which you arrived.

Visas

For those attendees who require a Visa to enter the US, contact Chris Lace at clace@iarc.uaf.edu. Please include the name of your institute, address, work title, dates of travel and your fax number. A letter of invitation will be faxed to you and the original will be mailed.  Due to lengthy processing times, please start your visa paperwork early.
