The AMAP assessments are the result of cooperative efforts involving a large number of scientists, indigenous peoples' representatives, and representatives of the Arctic countries and AMAP observing countries and organizations. AMAP science reports are subject to rigorous peer-review.

All AMAP assessment reports are available as electronic documents elsewhere on this website. They include popular/educational summaries, more extensive but still easily readabale overview reports, detailed scientific background documents and technical reports.

These assessments have provided a basis for development of the Arctic Contaminants Action Programme (ACAP).
