Information on Oral or Poster Presentations

Chairs - Speakers

The meeting halls are equipped with systems for delivering PowerPoint presentations, including connection to the Internet.

If you require other equipment, such as a projector for delivering your presentation using overhead transparencies, or equipment for showing Video/DVD material, we need to know about that on beforehand. Please send any such requests for additional equipment by e-mail to birna@congress.is .

All PowerPoint presentations must be e-mailed to birna@congress.is before the meeting, in time to pre-load them, and check that everything is functioning correctly. You are kindly requested to submit your files as soon as possible, and by November 1 at the latest.

Please note: Speakers will not be able to bring their presentation materials on their own laptops for connecting to the meeting systems. You should however bring your presentations on a memory stick, CD, or floppy disk, or overhead transparencies, as a back up.

A technician will be present in the meeting hall during coffee and lunch breaks to assist if needed.

Please be present in the room where you will be making your presentation at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the session. It is important that the sessions stay on schedule to allow individuals who want to hear a specific talk to do so according to the symposium programme. It is thus vital that all speakers observe their time allotment.

According to current plans, a simultaneous translation service between English and Russian will be available during the symposium plenary and oral sessions.

Posters

Poster Sessions will take place on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon in the foyer of Nordica hotel – the posters will be on view throughout the Symposium.

The poster stands are 90x120 cm (width x height) and velcro fittings are available. If you are bringing a poster in landscape format, i.e. width greater than the height, could you please let the organizers know beforehand.

You should set up your posters as soon as possible after registration on the stands that can be found in the foyer of Nordica hotel. Each stand will be marked with a number corresponding to a particular poster (as indicated in the Symposium Final Programme). You are kindly requested to please set up your poster in its allocated place. Materials for mounting posters (velco strips, etc.) will be available.

Please note: The Symposium Organizers cannot take any responsibility for the posters, and participants are kindly requested to remove their posters as soon as possible after the Symposium has ended.

Authors are expected to be by their posters during the Poster Session to which it has been assigned.

If time can be made in the Symposium Oral Programme (e.g. in the event of cancellations/withdrawls of planned presentations), presenters of poster presentations may be given the opportunity to give a short (three minute) introduction to their posters. If you are interested in this possibility, you might like to consider preparing suitable presentation materials, e.g. overhead transparencies (max. 2-3 overheads per presentation). The meeting organizers will provide more information on this when the final symposium programme has been decided.

General Internet connections, checking e-mail, etc.

Computer facilities with Internet access will be available for use by all participants in the foyer of Nordica hotel. This will be marked ‘Internet Corner’.
